Leading on from his last record, 「from "EL FANTASMA DE LA LIBERTAD" 」, Raphael has updated and expanded his Cuban urban sound, to overflow with energy and originality. Tracks like "Yemaya" focus on utilizing top Cuban musicians to create a live band sound, sure to broaden his already wide ranging audience.
At times passionately exploding forth with rhythm, or stifling in its quiet gaps, the music is tied together expertly by the ever-present cuban percussion. And all of this is so easily and comfortably entwined, resonating together beautifully like the best of live bands should. For Raphael, it's as if his entire lifetime of music has been collected and combined into a single album.
RAPHAEL SEBBAGは、モロッコ系フランス人のDJ。90年代日本にクラブジャズブームを巻き起こした ユニットUNITED FUTURE ORGANIZATION(U.F.O.)のメンバーで、20年に渡り東京のクラブ・シーンそのもの を切り拓いて来たゴッドファーザーである。音楽の神に愛されていると言っても過言ではない彼が紡ぎ出 す音楽は、今なお世界各国の様々なフィールドから絶大な支持を得ている。
前作、from ”EL FANTASMA DE LA LIBERTAD”で披露した、ラファエルのオリジナリティ溢れるアーバンラテンサウンドをさらに更新させた彼の音楽世界を楽しむことができる。より生演 奏に比重を置き、キューバ録音で現地の最高のミュージシャンたちが参加した”Yemaya”など、より幅広い音楽ファンにアピールをするないようになって いる。が時に情熱的に激しく響き渡るビート、優しく包み込む静寂、音と音の隙間をムーディーに迫るリズム。その総てが心地よく絡み合い、美しく共鳴し熱を 帯 び、聴くものを圧倒する。彼の音楽人生そのものが制作期間とたとえるのであれば、制作期間２５年間の集大成的な１stアルバムである。
