With a loose theme based around a lone spy aspiring to uncover a devious deed, the only thing more mysterious than the sounds on offer here is the creator himself. Friend of fellow Korean dubsmith Yoonkee, Magazine King sets himself apart from the crowd by his trademark "psychedelic lo-fi" sound and his penchant for devising and building his own instruments to perform live. Dub is a broad genre by definition, but this album is something that is really on the border. Unique, shady and gritty - it might just come in handy on your next big stakeout.

韓国のアンダーグラウンドシーンで昔から活動するMagazine Kingの初めての作品集。

古いキーボードやオルガン、ドラム、ベースなどをすべて自分ひとりで演奏して作られた、サイケデリックでLo-Fiなサウンド。彼は実は韓国では音楽好きから普通の高校生まで圧倒的な支持を得るストリートミュージックのカリスマグループであった、 Shisha、Ｋ.Ｏ.Ｄの片割れとして活躍していた。本作はその曲名からも分かるように探偵をテーマとして1つの物語がベッドルームで練られ構築された。本作はそのLo-Fiなサウンドを敢えてイギリスで１，２位を争う有名スタジオに持ち込み、Dennis Bovellを始め数々の作品のエンジニアを務めるスタジオを代表するエンジニアにミックスを依頼。そしてマスタリングは、Missy Elliotをはじめ、Eminem、Norah Jonesなどの作品を手がけるDanny Kingが仕上げた。ある青年の自宅録音を超一流の職人達の手による仕事へと発展させる洗練れたユニークな作品になった。コリアンダブというこれまでにないジャンルを親友でもあるYoonkeeと共に担う作品である。
