Kath Bloom is a legendary singer-songwriter who collaborated and released 5 albums in the early 80's with Loren Mazzacane Connors, a highly revered musician cited as having influenced such auspicious peers as Jim O'Rourke and Sonic Youth. To date, she has not released any other recordings, and the records she has released were printed in such tragically low numbers as to greatly drive up their desirability and, consequently, their price.
This release is the international premiere of her solo work, including songs created between the 80's and 90's.
Her music is based on an American folk / country style, and brims with naive sensitivity. Her singing sometimes resonates so freshly with our ears, as to evoke and draw out deeply nostalgic feelings and memories. The only accompaniment she needs is local musicians and family members. Her clear, gentle singing and guitar ring out over the soft, relaxed drums, violin and bass.
